Licensed Child Care (8:00 AM–6:00 PM)
This activity is your one-stop shop for all Weekend Child Care options! Simply select the date(s) you need and register for all of them in a single transaction!
Registration Process
- Click “Enroll Now.”
- Select your child’s name from the drop-down menu.
- Select the dates you would like to register for.
- Click “Estimate Fee” and then “Next” to proceed to payment. Use the drop-down arrow to confirm that all desired activities are included.
- Click “Checkout.” You will be charged for all selected dates in one transaction.
Join us for a fun-filled day!
A light breakfast, a morning snack, and an afternoon snack will be provided. Please pack a nutritious lunch and a water bottle for your child.
Registration & Fees:
- The Weekend Child Care base fee is $65 per day
- Kindergarten is $49 (CCFRI Subsidy – $16/day)
- Grade 1+ is $59.25 (CCFRI Subsidy – $5.75/day)
Please contact the Community Centre Front Desk to arrange your subsidy refund.
Families may also be eligible for the Affordable Child Care Benefit (ACCB), with the amount of subsidy depending on their household income. If you decide to apply, please contact our staff team to request the Child Care Arrangement form required for your application.
Cancellation Policy:
Weekend Child Care fees are refundable when a minimum of two weeks notice is provided. Cancellations made with less than two weeks notice are non-refundable. A $4 administrative fee per activity will apply to all approved refunds.
Registration for any day closes two days before the selected date.
Important: For all off-site activities, completed and signed field trip forms (provided by the Out of School Care Manager) are mandatory. Our Weekend Child Care Day runs from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Drop-off and pick-up times are flexible with suggested time for drop-off from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM and for pick-up from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM (subject to change depending on out trips).
New Participants
If your child is not currently enrolled in Champlain Heights Out-of-School Care (OSC) or has not attended any of our Licensed Child Care Programs within the past year, please provide:
- A copy of their immunization record
- A current photo
- All required licensing forms
The forms will be emailed to the email you have on your profile.
If we do not receive these documents 2 days before the day of attendance by email or in person, your child might not be permitted to attend.
Is the Participant “Group Ready”?
The Weekend Child Care is a group-based program where kids make friends, play, and learn together. Children should be group ready, meaning they can take part in the group most of the time. A group-ready child can:
- Be in busy, active group spaces
- Listen and follow directions from staff
- Play, join activities, and stay safe with others
- Move between activities with support and handle sounds, lights, and crowds (staff can help with transitions and sensory needs).
If a child spends more than 30% of the day away from group activities, staff may talk with parents/guardians to review if the program is the right fit and to explore supports or accommodations to help the child stay safe and take part in the program. Our goal is to help every child be safe, included, and part of the group as much as possible.
The Champlain Heights Weekend Child Care Program reserves the right to re-evaluate a participant’s registration if:
- The participant’s needs cannot be safely met
- The participant poses a danger to themselves or others
- Staff are unable to support the care level necessary for a participant’s safe and successful program experience
- The participant’s medical, physical or behavioural condition is significantly different to what was disclosed
