Virtual Hatha Yoga Beginner/Intermediate Are you Virtual Hatha Yoga Beginner/Intermediate Are you ready to move in new ways to address stiffness and soreness in your body? Would you like to quiet your mind for deeper relaxation? This online hatha yoga class makes yoga accessible to people of all ages, physical abilities and body types. Experienced instructor, Shannon Piedt, teaches yoga poses, breathing and mindful awareness to build inner and outer strength and flexibility. This program will be presented virtually. The use of a yoga mat is recommended. Registration is on a day by day basis. Space is limited so be sure to register! Please note: Children will be divided into pods of 5 and will have a designated leader all week. The day camp will operate rain or shine. All activities and out trips will be held at the centre or within walking distance of the camps home base, no public transit or charter buses will be used. Parents/Guardians will receive an email of the Parent Communication/Policy manual and forms prior to camp, outlining camp expectations and guidelines. Register online or call 604.718.6575
For youth looking for volunteer opportunities: Wel For youth looking for volunteer opportunities: Welcome to Champlain Heights Youth Council! We're a youth-led community group that plans a bunch of fun activities and events to benefit the members of our neighborhood. We're inviting all youth (Grade 8 and up) to join us on our event planning adventures! Since Champlain Heights is so close to plenty of parks and wildlife, we love helping out with sustainable initiatives. We'll be meeting completely online this year, but we'll still have plenty of fun creating virtual and safe events. As a part of the Champlain Heights Community Centre, we'll be bringing a bunch of fantastic events to our surrounding community. You'll also be making volunteer hours along the way for your efforts. We will most likely be meeting on Facebook Rooms (or Zoom), on Saturdays from 9:00-10:00 pm (evenings). On November 7th, the Provincial Health Officer of On November 7th, the Provincial Health Officer of British Columbia issued orders that temporarily restricted indoor group physical activities; based on this decision, all active programs at the centre will be canceled until November 23 12pm as per the Provincial Health Order.  Refunding or adding sessions at the end of the season will be discussed with instructors; this decision will be communicated to you as soon as it is made. If you have any further questions or concerns, please call our front desk at 604.718.6575 between the hours of 7:30am-7:15pm Mondays to Thursdays, or 7:30am-6:00pm on Fridays.  We are closed on Saturdays/Sundays and on Remembrance Day, Wednesday, November 11th.
